I admit that I felt very emotional reading that message from Darren, probably because it's been a long time since he made such a personal one to us.

I'm reminded of when I met him in Bristol. The feeling of "knowing" him, like he was not Darren, but a friend. In person, he has this amazing ability to make people feel at ease and comfortable, and his words always do that to me as well.Reading Darren's words in his message there seems like he has found closure and acceptance on the past, on those difficult turbulent yet successful years. He's right about his definition of happiness, sometimes like when you seem to have it all, you have a price to pay. Happiness doesn't always come freely or you don't always appreciate or see it when you have it. The words were very insightful and wise, but I'm glad he's accepting of it all. In his words, it was a very beautiful message but in a sad, bittersweet type of way. I so very much want to hear what he has to say in his new album.
Janie xx
